The Pediatric Center for Wellness has a dynamic staff of providers dedicated to the health and wellness of your child. Each Provider has undergone extensive training, education and Board Certifications specific to caring for patients from Newborn to age 21.
Pediatrican + Founder
Dr. Crystal Berry Hood
As the founder of Pediatric Center for Wellness, P.C., Dr. Hood is passionate about providing infants, children, and adolescents with medical care that heals from the inside out. Dr. Hood is focused on the issue of childhood obesity and works to educate families on children’s nutritional health for today and in the future.
Dr. Hood is a Pediatrician who has enthusiastically served children for over fifteen years. She considers herself fortunate to be able to live out her life’s passion of caring for children. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is committed to excellence and providing quality, evidence-based healthcare for children in a compassionate manner.
Dr. Hood is a graduate of Spelman College and Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric training at the University of Florida Health Science Center where she received awards for her teaching of medical students. She lives in Conyers with her husband and eight children. As a mother, she is always aware of the complexities involved in the endeavor to rear children to reach their optimal physical, intellectual and emotional potential. As a physician, she uses that awareness along with a divine recognition of each child’s uniqueness to provide comprehensive care of the highest quality.

PEDIATRICIAN
Dr. Heidi Gomes
Dr. Heidi Gomes completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama and obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Her residency was completed at Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency Program in New Orleans.
Her 23 years as a pediatrician have taken her to interesting places and settings, including private practice, a community health center, international work in Lesotho and work with Indian Health Services. She feels each position has enriched her knowledge, honed her skills, and afforded opportunities for growth through their unique challenges and experiences.
Her interests include reading, traveling, and learning to play the cello.
PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT
Regina Perkins, PA-C
Regina Perkins is a native of Birmingham, AL. She graduated from Alabama A&M University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Regina then went on to receive a Master in Human Environmental Science from the University of Alabama in 2010. Upon completion of her Masters degree, she continued to pursue an education to obtained a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Chatham University in 2014.
Regina is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant and has worked in pediatrics for the last 6 yrs. Regina enjoys working with children and their families. It brings her great pleasure to help nurture and play a part of developing children from newborn to young adulthood. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and watching movies with her husband and boys.
Nurse practitioner
Linda Payne, FNP-C
Linda Payne is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Georgia State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University. She has over 15 years of nursing experience in pediatrics including
newborn nursery, home consulting for infants, school nursing, and pediatric urgent care. The children she cared for in urgent care were frequently seen for conditions that are initially treated in primary care offices, such as asthma and bronchiolitis. She hopes to provide the necessary care and education to families to avoid preventable ER and urgent care visits.
Linda is fluent in Spanish. She lives with her husband and two sons and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball.
